MCC: Huge number of Students but not the Facilities

Mabalacat City College is known for its excellent teachers, and intelligent students. This school has a huge number of student population due to the free education system of the government. One factor that a school must have, is a room that is comfortable, and enough for voluminous number of students. In the case of MCC, their rooms, and other facilities were not enough for all the students to stay in, so some of them are using the student center, and their covered court to serve as their temporary class rooms.  In the record for the school year 2018-2019, the school has 100 to 150 of rooms and 2000 to 3000 number of students.

According to Raymond Vergara, Dean of Institute of Arts and Sciences, part of the plan is to have a new building that will be use as rooms of the students, and also the upgrading of the equipment and facilities of the school, where one of them is their Gymnasium that until now, it is not yet done. There is one building which has 40 rooms that until this present time, is still under inspection in preparation for unexpected calamities. According to the Office of the City Mayor, they are still working for the budget needed for the materials to be use, and they still prioritizing other things such as health of the Mabalacaños. Darnel Lacsina, a 2nd year college student on the said school added, that “it is very uncomfortable to stay in the covered court or in student center during class discussion.” Maybe by the next 2 years, they can be able to add more rooms in the school because of growing population of the students.
